Listening text
John and Alice are twins. They are only seven
years old, but they try to do everything themselves. John can make model planes
and ships all by himself. Alice can draw beautiful pictures by herself. John
likes to make and repair things. When his parents buy him a toy, he often
breaks it into pieces and then put the pieces together to make it the same as
it was.
Alice likes to make things, too. When her mother
or father gives her a doll, she usually makes clothes for it. Her mother taught
her how to make them, and now she can make them all by herself. When the twins
are at home by themselves, they often stay in their own room and do their own
things. But they help each other when either of them needs help. John helps
Alice carry her schoolbag when it is heavy. Alice helps John look after his
clothes when he is playing football on the playground. They don‘t agree with
each other sometimes, but they are good friends.
The answers are: John can make model planes and ships. He
likes to break toys and put the pieces together again. He helps Alice carry her
schoolbag when it’s too heavy. Alice can draw beautiful pictures. She likes to
make clothes for her dolls. She helps John look after his clothes when he plays
football.
